Melvyn's Restaurant
200 W. Ramon, Palm Springs, 760-325-2323
Dry martinis and tableside steak Diane--traditional
Continental dining that would make the
Rat Pack croon.
The menu spotlights classic Continental
dishes as if they never went out of style.
Start with succulent crabcakes filled
with hunks of crab not bready filler or
the chilled lobster cocktail served over
ice. Next up are two exquisite starters;
a decadent French onion soup topped with
a lightly browned slice of Gruyere and
a zesty Caesar salad prepared tableside.
Melvyn's reruns the tableside show with
its steak Diane entree. Rich and tender,
the choice cut is topped with shallots
and a velvety peppercorn sauce. For dessert,
the best bet is Melvyn's light-as-air
souffle. |
